ISLAMABAD: Ignoring Justice Qayyum’s Report, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed as the new spin bowling consultant for national cricket team, ARY News reported.
Mushtaq, who recently coached England has signed the contract with PCB on Monday and took the charge on immediate basis.
Mushtaq Ahmed was in competition with Saqlain Mushtaq for the role but the coach selection committee, comprising Moin Khan, Intikhab Alam and Haroon Rashid recommended Mushtaq Ahmed.
Justice Qayyum Commission Report
The Justice Qayyum Commission started its inquiry on September 9, 1998 and summoned various persons together with evidence regarding the match fixing allegations.
The commission disclosed its report in the year 2000 with the list of names, recommending these players should not be assigned any role in PCB. Mushtaq’a name was involved in that list.
