KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said the peace that had prevailed in streets and all zones was due to the sacrifices of the police’s martyrs.
“Their role in maintaining law and order, tranquility and eradicating the menace of terrorism is inscribed in history,” he said in a statement while paying tributes to Police’s martyrs in all ranks said that they had laid their lives for peace in the country.
The PPP chairman said that the nation owed to the police’s martyrs and would not leave their families alone.
“Police’s contribution towards maintaining law and order and fighting against the terrorism is remarkable and they deserve due appreciation and applause,” he added.
He said that whenever PPP had its government in the country, it greatly encouraged and facilitated the Police force. The previous government of the PPP had raised the amounts of compensations to the aggrieved families, he said.
Bilawal said that the next government of the PPP would still keep working for modernising the police force in Sindh.
