Peace jirga calls for resolving ‘stalled’ peace talks
PESHAWAR: Tribal peace jirga has appealed the army, government and the Taliban to hammer out a solution in making peace talks a success, ARY News reported Thursday.
In a statement, peace jirga said peace and stability in FATA will lead to peace across the country. It also demanded extension in ceasefire to make peace talks a success.
Jirga members said no measures were taken to ensure basic rights to people in tribal areas. They said political, educational and financial reforms were inevitable to eradicate sense of deprivation among Tribal people.
Maulana Samiul Haq, who was also a part of jirga among other leaders, said all tribal people were in favour of peace.
