PEMRA ensures implementation of SC verdict of 2012
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has ensured the implementation of Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan verdict of 2012, while the apex court winded up the petition relating to the suspension of Geo TV transmission and its shuffling – ARY News reports.
According to details, PEMRA ensured the implementation of SC verdict of August 13, 2012. Justice Jawwad during his remarks, said that according to the orders no channel can be shuffled nor its transmission can be suspended, without any reason.
He also thanked ARY News, Mubashir Lucman for identifying relation with Mir Shakil and a chance will certainly be given to present arguments on the objection.
However, Justice Jawwad seemed to be annoyed on anti-Judiciary banners. He inquired the DG Intelligence Bureau (IB) about the organization Farzandaan e Islam, which displayed banners at various places.
The SC judge continued further that Judiciary is being humiliated and the Government is quiet.
The DG IB told that he is aware of the banners, yet there is no record of an organization named Farzandaan e Islam and asked the SC for a time limit till Wednesday, to investigate the issue.
At this, the SC granted time to the DG IB to submit the report by Wednesday morning.
