Here’s what the ‘IT’ clown Pennywise looks like in real life

Pennywise

The Hollywood blockbuster IT – remake of Stephen King’s “It” of the 1990 – has set many records at the US box office and the creepy clown in the flick is the soul of the movie. But do you know who is the guy behind clown mask?

Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard is the man who brings the famous clown to life in the new movie remake of Stephen King’s horror novel It.

Pennywise, also known as It, is the villain in Stephen King’s horror novel, which has now been remade as a film.

Pennywise, the film’s warped villain, is an age-old shapeshifter who takes the appearance of a ginger clown.

In the 1990 TV miniseries, Tim Curry played Pennywise, spooking an entire generation of kids when It was first released.

Now the cult character has been terrifying viewers all over again with his murderous antics, but the actor stepping into the sinister clown’s oversized shoes looks nothing like him.

Fans have noticed that without the white makeup and ginger wig, 27-year-old Bill Skarsgard doesn’t bear any real resemblance to the menacing clown at all.

In fact, if you walked past Bill in the street, you’d be more likely to do a double take because of his incredibly chiselled jawline than because you recognised him from the horror film.

The It star’s dad, Stellan Skarsgard, was in Good Will Hunting and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
