Peshawar: Suicide attack on Iranian consulate foiled; 2 FC men killed
PESHAWAR: Two FC personnel died in the line of duty when they overpowered a suicide attacker from entering the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar, and the attacker exploded himself, ARY News reported on Monday.
SSP Operations told that suicide attacker wanted to target the Iranian Consulate and attempted to barge into the building but FC personnel blocked his way and resultantly he (the attacker) exploded himself. Three accomplices of the suicide attacker were attired in police uniform, who fled after the blast, SSP added.
It is reported that American Consulate and other important buildings are also located near the spot.
Additional contingent of police has also been summoned to the spot. The injured persons have been shifted to the hospital, with two of them are stated to be in a very critical condition.
