PESHAWAR: A police officer, his bodyguard and driver were injured when gunmen opened fire at him as he was leaving for his duty on Wednesday, ARY News reports.
According to details received by ARY News, unknown persons opened fire at the SHO of Bala Mari police station, Abdul Hameed, at Ring Road adjacent to Pahari Pura as he was leaving home for his office. His driver and the bodyguard were also injured in the attack.
The injured were brought to Lady Reading Hospital for medical attendance.
According to Police sources, the number of attackers was three. Police has deployed contingents to the area for search for the attackers.
Doctors have said that SHO Abdul Hameed has received three bullets whereas his bodyguard is of danger.
