Petition filed for registration of case against Geo
ABBOTTABAD: A petition has been filed at district and sessions’ court Abbottabad, seeking registration of case against Geo TV for committing blasphemy in its morning show, ARY News reported Friday.
Geo TV, couple of days ago, had played Manqabat (religious poetry) in disgraceful manner while featuring reenactment of Veena Malik’s wedding in its morning show, thus hurting religious sentiments of millions of viewers.
The court issued notices to the respondents and postponed the hearing till May 19.
The petition was filed by law expert Rauf Siddiqui Advocate at district and sessions’ court Abbottabad. The petitioner nominated Geo owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Shahista Lodhi, Veena Malik, Asad Khattak and Geo administration as respondents in a petition.
