PHF names Shahnaz Shaikh as coach and Islahuddin Siddiqui, chief selector

LAHORE: In a bid to sort out differences and to revive past glories, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) named Olympian Shahnaz Shaikh as the new coach for senior hockey team while former captain, Islahuddin Siddiqui is appointed as the chief selector, ARY News reported.

These decisions were made during the executive board meeting of PHF held in Lahore on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Secretary PHF Rana Mujahid said Shahnaz Shaikh will coach the senior team, while former captain Manzoor Ahmed will take charge of the junior team.

Speaking to media, Shahnaz Shaikh said “I am here to do my best to revive Pakistan hockey and my first target will be to defend the Asian title in South Korea in September.”
