PIA flight brings 134 Pakistanis home from Yemen

The citizens were warmly welcomed at the Islamabad airport with tears in eyes and smile on faces upon their safe return. On the occasion, the air resounded with Pakistan Zindabad – Long Live Pakistan – chants.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Abdul Qadir Baloch was also present at the airport to welcome the citizens evacuated from Sanaa.

Baloch praised the spirit of the Pakistanis and told that nearly 800 citizens have been successfully rescued from Yemen. He said that the process of evacuating Pakistanis from Yemen is continued upon the directives of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The passengers arriving home from Yemen said the government made adequate arrangements for their return and that they were extremely glad to reach their soil.

This was the third PIA flight bringing back the Pakistani nationals trapped in Yemen. The flight also brought some foreign nationals rescued from Yemen.
