PIA office in New Delhi attacked

According to eye witnesses, some armed culprits barged into the PIA town office, ransacked equipments in the building and maltreated the office staff.

The same office had received threats some days ago, however, security at the facility was not beefed up despite repeated attempts.

The culprits chanted slogans against Pakistan and the Pakistani government.

Our correspondent reported that PIA station manager Saeed Khan immediately informed the local police and communicated it to the Pakistan officials at the embassy.

Talking to ARY News, PIA spokesperson Daniyal Gillani said a fenzy mob entered the office and chanted slogans against Pakistan. They broke computers, furnitures and windows.

He said police reached the spot after office staff informed them about the assault. Gillani said flight reservation system at the office had been suspended following the attack as miscreants destroyed computers.

He informed that the PIA staff at the New Delhi office was safe.
