PIA to operate 117 flights today, 75 domestic and 43 international: Official spokesperson

General Manager Public Affairs/Official Spokesperson PIA Danyal Gilani tweeted that as many as 117 flights of the national flag carrier would operate today in the country. As per details of his tweet, 75 domestic flights and 43 international flights would operate today.

The announcement from the official spokesperson comes after a day earlier, chairman of PIA Joint Action Committee Sohail Baloch announced the end of the strike, which had kicked off from February 2. Suhail had also urged employees to resume their duties and said hoped condition of the airline would improve in the next six months with the help of the workers. According to the official spokesperson of PIA, the airline has decided to reduce its air fares for passengers to ‘stabalize unrealistic hike in fares & to facilitate customers’.

According to the spokesman, a one way ticket from Karachi to Lahore and Lahore to Karachi would cost Rs. 7,500. A one way ticket from Karachi to Islamabad would now cost Rs. 7,000. An Umra ticket from Lahore and Islamabad would now cost Rs. 54,500 whereas from Karachi it would cost 44,500.
