Pillion riding banned in Sindh on Chehlum

KARACHI: Sindh Government imposed a ban on pillion riding in the province for 26 hours on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), ARY News reports.

The ban will be enforced from 10:00 pm on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) will be marked on 3rd December 2015 amid stringent security measures.

Provincial government sources stated that Police and Rangers officials have finalized security arrangements for Chehlum in a meeting.  More than 12,000 personnel will provide security whereas heavy contingents of para-military troops will monitor the procession.

The shops along the route of the procession will be sealed whereas sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squad will also search the rally.

The procession will also be monitored by aerial surveillance. The snipers from Police and Rangers will be deployed on the high-rise buildings located on the route of the processions.
