Plane revamp ordered ahead of PM’s visit to Turkey
LAHORE: In view of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s forthcoming visit to Turkey, government authorities have issued directives to convert national airlines, Boeing 777, into a VVIP jet charter, ARY News reported on Monday.
Sources said billions of rupees would be spent on revamping seats of the charter plane. They said the travel expenses of a 3-day prime minister’s visit to Turkey would be borne by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Government has also decided in principle to privatize PIA, but on the other hand, steps are being taken to plunge the national airlines into dire financial crisis. The entire team of prime minister will also accompany him during his visit.
PIA spokesperson has clarified that government pays all the expenses incurred in the movement of VVIP plane.
