Plea in LHC to remove Saad Rafique's name from proclaimed offenders list

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique filed a petition in Lahore High Court to get his name removed from the list of proclaimed offenders, ARY News reported on Friday.

A case under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) was registered against 100 persons including Khawaja Saad Rafique 10 years ago in year 2004. The court summoned Saad Rafique repeatedly for the case hearing but he failed to appear. After which the court declared the PML-N leader and existing railways minister as proclaimed offender.

Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore turned down a plea of the prosecution for taking back charges against Saad Rafique.

The Prosecution has filed a petition in Lahore High Court challenging the decision of the ATC court.
