PM Abbasi arrives in Karachi on two-day visit

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday arrived here on a two-day visit.

The premier landed at the Karachi airport where he was received by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Muhammad Zubair Umar.

He will attend a reception hosted by Pakistan Gas Port Consortium Limited (PGPC) and will also inaugurate a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal.

This is his fourth visit to the economic hub of the country after taking oath as prime minister in August in the wake of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification in the Panama Papers case.

During his first trip to the city on August 12, PM Abbasi announced a Rs 25 billion development package for the metropolis and another Rs five billion development package for Hyderabad in the current fiscal year 2017-18.

In a subsequent visit on August 27, the premier inaugurated Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal Two at Port Qasim.
