PM Abbasi assures Saudi Arabia of full support for peace cause

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has lauded the efforts of the Saudi Arabian leadership in bringing peace and stability in the region and assured the Saudi King of Pakistan’s full support in this regard.

He was talking with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud in Riyadh on Monday.

During his meeting with the King, the two dignitaries reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations in addition to regional and international issues.

The Saudi Arabian king praised the excellent relations that existed between the two sides and efforts of Pakistan in routing the menace of terrorism and extremism from its soil.

The prime minister appreciated the efforts and dedication of the crown prince in launching a unified platform of Muslim countries, in form of Islamic Military Alliance.

The first meeting of Defence Ministers of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) was held in Riyadh on Sunday. Saudi Arabian Crown Prince chaired the meeting.

Mohammad Bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia and other countries of the coalition looked forward to learn from Pakistan’s experience in this field.

Military Commander of IMCTC Raheel Sharif has said the IMCTC will assist member countries in their counter terrorism operations through intelligence sharing and capacity building.

“This alliance is not against any country, sect or religion. The basic aim of this alliance is to take measures against terrorism,” said former Pakistan Army chief.
