KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday has arrived in Karachi, the capital city of Sindh province today (Saturday) on a daylong visit.
The premier was received by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Muhammad Zubair at Karachi International Airport.
He will attend a briefing during his stay in the port city on various ongoing development projects. The premier will be apprised about the progress on various projects run by the province in collaboration with the federal government, the governor house spokesperson told the media.
PM Abbasi will also be briefed on Pakistan gas port consortium of the Fauji Oil Terminal & Distribution Limited, the spokesperson added.
The premier is likely to hold meetings with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) officials and to get briefing on the four-year performance of the bourse.
It will be his third visit to the city after taking oath as prime minister of Pakistan.
During his first visit on August 12, Prime Minister Abbasi had announced a Rs 25 billion development package for Karachi and another Rs five billion development package for Hyderabad in the current fiscal year 2017-18.
In a subsequent visit on August 27, the premier had inaugurated Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal Two at Port Qasim.
