RAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday emphasized that it is the people alone who are to decide their future through ballot.

Addressing a gathering of PML-N workers in Kahuta, Abbasi said former premier Nawaz Sharif served the nation for the last four years and after his disqualification he took forward his mission of service.

He said they accepted the Supreme Court verdict against Sharif because they respected the judiciary.

PM Abbasi said the people alone will decide their future. Whatever decision they take will have bearing on their future, he stressed.

The country is making progress owing to buoyant economy, the premier said, adding strong economy will generate more opportunities of employment for young people.

He said he believed PML-N candidates from the city will be elected in the upcoming general elections.

He announced a number of uplift projects, including construction and upgradation of educational institutions as well as play grounds, for Kahuta city.

Abbasi performed the groundbreaking of rehabilitation and improvement of Rawalpindi-Kahuta road today.

The twenty-eight kilometer long road will be completed at a cost of twelve billion rupees in two phases.

It includes a 4-lane bridge over Sihala-Railway crossing, Sihala bypass and Kahuta bypass in addition to three bridges.
