Why PM barred his ministers from issuing statements?

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has barred his ministers from issuing statements [against the Army] for unexplained reasons. ARY News has fathomed out the rationale of the move.

Various rumours were going rounds after prime minister’s directives to his ministers, stopping them from issuing any statements [relating to the Army].

According to sources, the latest development emerged after PML-N ministers, Khwaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Asif in particular, started hurling barbs following the verdict in Musharraf case.

The critical comments passed by the ministers prompted reaction of the Army. The leadership of the Army conveyed its reservations to prime minister, saying if defence minister issue censuring statements against Army then what impact it will create?

The army leadership said defence minister must lift the morale of military rather than demoralizing the institution.

“Army should be deemed as national institution,” said military leadership in its concerns to the PM.

Reacting promptly to the reservations, PM Nawaz Sharif asked his ministers to refrain from issuing statements against the Army.
