ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while addressing a session of parliament, has called on the international community to expedite efforts for implementation of United Nations resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that 700,000 Indian troops have unleashed a reign of terror in the valley, and many innocent Kashmiris have lost their lives and suffered brutal injuries, but this has not affected the determination of the people of Kashmir to fight for their rights.

The killing of Burhan Wani has given a new phase of life to the struggle movement in Kashmir. This proves that the youth of Kashmir have taken over the struggle for freedom and independence to fight Indian aggression and atrocities.

He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic and logistic support to the freedom movement in Kashmir.

He said that the international community needs to understand the results of sidelining UN resolutions since the past seven decades. He remarked that if the policy of keeping people hostage is freedom then the world will be pulled way back in time.

He also warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that they should realise that poverty cannot be ended by driving tanks on farmlands.

The Prime Minister spoke about the efforts which have been undertaken by him for the situations. He said that that the UN Secretary-General was contacted over the situation in Kashmir, and they have contacted world leaders to apprise them to take notice of the atrocities over there.

He maintained that Pakistan wanted peace and to address issue through dialogue, but the process broke down repeatedly, and hurdles were thrown in to thwart the peace process.

“I would like to repeat our stance that we are against war. We want peace in the region. We want to resolve all outstanding disputes through dialogue,” he said.

However, despite that Indian forces violated ceasefire agreements and opened unprovoked fire on 28th September and killed two soldiers but was given a befitting reply from our armed forces, which proves that they will fully capable against any aggression.

While briefing touching on the Uri attack, he said that without any investigation the blame was thrown on Pakistan in a matter of few hours which clearly show the motives of India.

However he warned that this desire for peace should be considered as the wish of a brave and self-respecting country, as the world sees Pakistan as a responsible country.
