ISLAMABAD: A crucial meeting of the federal cabinet has been underway with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair to approve the national security policy, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Operation against Taliban:
The federal cabinet in its meeting will also decide whether to launch operation against Taliban militants or to continue the dialogue, reports said.
The meeting will also be briefed on the ongoing consultations initiated by the government about launching a full-scale military operation.

Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz yesterday said that government was consulting other stakeholders on dealing with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Talking on sidelines of a seminar Aziz, however, said that the option of dialogue with militants would not be closed.
The military has pounded terrorist hideouts in tribal areas after talks were suspended in the aftermath of killing of 23 kidnapped Frontier Corps soldiers who were in the captivity of the Taliban.
