PM chairs meeting over Islamabad stand off

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presiding over a high level meeting to consult over the situation in Islamabad after Imran Khan’s announcement of leading protesters to the Red Zone of the federal capital, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The meeting being attended by federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Pervaiz Rasheed, Ahsan Iqbal and Abdul Qadir Baloch.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the Red Zone will be given full protection and no one will be allowed entry in this sensitive area.

He said that the security agencies are prepared to protect the high security zone of the federal capital.

He said the violation of the red zone will malign the image of Pakistan.

The Red Zone of Islamabad houses important government buildings and installations and foreign embassies.
