PM chairs meeting to review, law and order, development projects

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting at Governor’s House in Lahore to review the law and order situation and the progress in ongoing development projects, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali and other ministers were present at the meeting.

The meeting monitored the progress of Prime Minister’s Sustainable Development Goals Program.

Prime Minister Sharif said that SDGs implementation will have a positive trickle-down effect on the masses for improving the livelihood. He said improvement in the living standard of the people is the mission of his government.

He said the infrastructure of electricity and gas, establishment of new schools and providing facilities to existing schools have been some of the priorities of his government.

The prime minister also directed for establishment of the basic and regional health centres, upgradation of the existing medical centres and construction of roads from agricultural farms to markets.

Nawaz Sharif lauded the steps taken by Chief Minister of Punjab for rapid progress in implementation of the development projects and maintaining transparency in development initiatives.
