PM expresses grief, seeks report of Multan tragedy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif has expressed immense grief over the death of eight people due to stampede in PTI rally in Multan and has sought an inquiry report of the incident, ARY News reported.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed grief over the loss of lives in Multan. He directed the provincial government of Punjab to find out the causes of stampede in the rally and sought an inquiry report from the IG Punjab Police.

The inquiry report will be submitted to the Ministry of Interior, wherefrom it will be forwarded to the PM Secretariat.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain and the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also expressed sorrow at loss of lives in Multan.

Earlier in the evening, at least eight people were killed and 21 were injured due to stampede in PTI rally, as the people were leaving the venue after Imran Khan’s address with a massive public gathering.
