ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed said the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has constituted a committee to resolve issues of media, ARY News reported.
Reporters of Geo Tv had violently disrupted a press conference of cable operators’ representatives at Karachi Press Club couple of days ago when the latter they had arrived at the KPC to apprise media persons of their issues, mainly in connection to Geo News.
However, the information minister, instead of asking Geo to practicing discipline, lashed out at cable operators. He said the PM had formed a committee after the entire ‘Geo-bashing’ episode.
Rasheed said government was fulfilling its responsibilities to ensure freedom of press. Alongside media should also fulfill its duties, added the minister.
