PM Imran convenes party’s meeting to devise future strategy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened an important meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leadership in Islamabad on Saturday, ARY News reported.

PM Imran Khan will chair the meeting at his house in Bani Gala to devise a strategy to tackle the current political and economic situation of the country, Sources said and added that media strategy would also be chalked out in the meeting.

Current reshuffle in cabinet, opposition’s criticism and other issues would also be discussed in the meeting, said sources.

PM Imran khan directed all the PTI’s spokes persons to ensure their presence in the meeting. The high-level meeting would start at 4 pm on Saturday (tomorrow).

Earlier, Federal cabinet on April 18, had seen major reshuffle with the resignation of Asad Umar as finance minister and appointment of noted economist Hafeez Shaikh as Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance.

In a statement issued from the Prime Minister House, it had been informed that Mr Shaikh would be appointed as the country’s financial manager.

Mr Shaikh had served as finance minister from 2010 to 2013 and as Minister of Privatization and Investment during from 2003 to 2006.
