The 40 megawatt coal power plant is said to be the largest of its kind in the industrial sector of Faisalabad. The plant has been setup at Sitara Chemical Industries of the industrial city.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony Sharif said that the government is not only focusing on power generation but also trying to ensure cheaper electricity to the people.
He said the government is striving to bring improvement in the living standards of the people.
The prime minister said that the government is not only focusing on mega power and infrastructure projects but also introducing programs to provide better education and healthcare facilities to the people.
He said the government plans to construct forty hospitals across the country and ensure provision of clean drinking water to the people.
Sharif said Pakistan has gained the status of emerging economy and his government trying utmost to provide all possible facilities and incentives to investors.
He said the government has launched several coal, LNG, solar and wind based power projects. He said that power load shedding situation has improved a lot and 2018 will be the year of elimination of power outages.
