ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced cash relief amount for famine-affected people of Tharparkar. It was told that the Thar affectees will get an amount from the Income Support Program 3 times more than what they used to get earlier – ARY News reports.
According to PM House sources, this will increase purchasing power of the suffering people. It was stated that the major causes of deaths in Tharparkar are poverty, non-availability of edibles and different diseases, which has resulted the drought affected people in meeting a disaster.
The Prime Minister announced to provide relief amount to Thar victims three times of the sum they used to get from the Income Support Program, so that they could purchase food items and other necessary goods easily.
It was further told that a transparent distribution of the relief amount will be insured by the authorities.
