MITHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visiting drought-hit Tharparkar today, ARY News reports. 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to announce the federal government's relief package for the drought stricken desert region.

Bilawal Bhutto, chairman of the provincial ruling party PPP, visiting Thar to monitor the relief work in drought-hit area, where several people including a number of children died in the famine-like situation, local media reports said. 

Local authorities have taken stringent security measures ahead of the arrival of Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto. All shops on the roads leading to the Civil Hospital in Mithi have been forced to shutdown and large contingents of police have been deployed at the hospital. 

The local administration will brief Prime Minister Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto about the situation in the region. The two leaders will also visit Pakistan Army's  Field Hospital to inquire about the health of the patients and will distribute relief goods, sources said.
