PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was briefed over the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan tribal region at Governor House Peshawar, ARY News reported on Friday.
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif was also present during the briefing at the Governor House.
In a detailed briefing the Prime Minister was informed about the progress in the operation and the number of the displaced people from North Waziristan.
The prime minister was also briefed about the law and order situation after the military offensive in the tribal region.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Minister of State Abdul Qadir Baloch were also accompanied with the prime minister.
During the prime minister’s visit of the Peshawar Corps Headquarters Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif and Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Khalid Rabbani received the prime minister.
Pakistan’s military has launched an offensive against the local and foreign militants having hideouts in North Waziristan.
