PM Nawaz missed golden chance of holding peace talks: Gillani

MULTAN: Former Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has said that the entire nation had given mandate for holding peace talks with Taliban, but PM Nawaz Sharif wasted this golden chance – ARY News reports.

He was talking to media after condoling the death of Syedna Burhanuddin here on Monday. Gillani told that the services of Burhanuddin for state, nation and especially the Bohri community cannot be forgotten.

Speaking about peace talks with Taliban, he expressed his assumptions that PM Nawaz Sharif has missed the golden chance of holding negotiations with the outlawed group.

The ex-PM denounced the attacks on security forces and expressed solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan.

Yousuf Raza Gillani further stated that the Parliament is the source of power and a supreme institution, yet this forum is not being utilized efficiently.

Whereas he claimed that the Government has itself weakened the case regarding General (R) Pervez Musharraf.
