PM Nawaz to meet President Erdogan in his Islamabad stop over

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the later’s stopover at Islamabad on Saturday (tomorrow), while on his way back to home from Indonesia, an official statement said on Friday.

The two leaders would hold discussions on enhancement of bilateral relations and global and international issues of mutual interest.

President Erdogan had earlier visited Lahore and Islamabad in December 2013 as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. It was his seventh visit to Pakistan in the last ten years, signifying strengthening of bilateral relations under his government. This would be his first visit to Islamabad as the President of Turkey.

The bilateral relations of Pakistan with Turkey have seen tremendous improvement under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government as both sides eager to translate their cordial relations into a durable strategic and economic partnership.
