PM in Karachi to review progress of National Action Plan

The Prime Minister in his day-long visit will meet top government and Rangers officials. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is expected to raise the issue of lack of development funds with the Premier. Nawaz, on the other hand, is expected to raise the issue of lack of implementation of the National Action Plan. During the stay, he will also visit the ongoing Pakistan Navy exercise ‘Sea Spark’ in the Arabian Sea.

According to the state radio, the Prime Minister is expected to hold a high level meeting to review law and order situation in city.

He is also expected to attend a function of Diwali with Hindu community in Karachi.

The Corps Commanders’ Conference yesterday stressed on the formation of Joint Investigation Teams and expediting their findings. Nawaz Sharif’s prompt Karachi visit after yesterday’s Corps Commanders’ Conference, could be taken as an important development.

The Prime Minister will most likely inquire about Sindh government’s performance. Nawaz Sharif is expected to inquire about Sindh government’s action against land grabbers and where the funding for the province’s population is being spent by the provincial government? The Prime Minister is also expected to inquire about nepotism in KMC, Sindh Building Control Authority, Water Board and Education.
