NEW DELHI: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif upon Indian invitation, attended the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi, while he will hold meetings with his Indian counterpart and the Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee tomorrow morning – ARY News reports.
According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the Indian Presidency. PM Nawaz first of all, shook hand with the outgoing Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, then he met the Prime Minister of Bhutan and later with the senior BJP leader, L K Advani.
He sat next to Manmohan Singh and was seen talking to him, during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived at the swearing in and warmly shook hands with PM Nawaz, he too sat next to Manmohan Singh.
Political analysts have declared the participation of heads of SAARC countries at the oath-taking of Modi, as a positive sign. They also labeled PM Nawaz Sharif's arrival important for both the neighboring states.
Modi from his day first demonstrated his willingness to take Pakistan along and the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also returned positively, which is considered inevitable for the prosperity and progress of the region.
