PM orders clampdown on websites, social media of terror outfits

All websites used by terrorists should be blocked forthwith, said the prime minister while addressing the review meeting on National Action Plan on counter terrorism.

“RRF will be given modern training to meet the requirements.”

The PM asked the provinces to ensure implementation of NAP. He added that the federal government would cooperate with provinces.

Hinting at government’s strict stance against terrorism, Mr. Sharif said speedy action will be taken those delivering hate speeches.

The government is committed to root out terrorism from the country, he reiterated.

The PM said use of social media terrorists should be stopped.

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan told the meeting that 95 militant organizations had been identified in Punjab. He told that 251 persons had been arrested, 334 cases were registered against elements making hate speeches.

Interior Secretary Shahid Khan, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Attorney General, the Prime Minister’s Special Adviser Barrister Zafarullah and the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary Asif Kirmani were also present in the meeting.
