ISLAMABAD: Expressing displeasure over unbridled power outages across the country, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered reduction in load-shedding hours to provide relief to the masses, ARY News reported.
The PM issued these directives during a meeting to review load-shedding problems. Sharif ordered the authorities to bring down load-shedding hours in urban areas to six hours and seven hours in rural areas.
He said unannounced and prolonged power outages were unacceptable, and asked the relevant officials to ensure reduction in load-shedding hours in days to come so people could be provided relief in the scorching summer season.
The prime minister asked the officials of Water and Power Ministry to supply extra fuel to power plants in Jamshoro and Muzaffargarh in order to churn out electricity up to 630 mega watts.
