PM orders measures to block blasphemous content on social media

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali to take all necessary measures to block blasphemous contents on social media platforms and those responsible should be taken to task forthwith, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

He directed to track the sources which involved in spreading blasphemous content on social media platforms. He said that such content is hurting the emotions of entire Muslim Ummah by terming it intolerable.

“The offenders will not be forgiven”, the PM said while directing to bring them to justice.

The prime minister also urged the interior minister that the international organizations relating to social media should be approached for blockade of the blasphemous content on social media. He also directed for taking immediate steps to completely eradicate the condemnable blasphemous contents on social media.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also urged for accountability of the people who are using the blasphemy law for their personal interest.

The Prime Minister has sought daily report over the issue.

He said the issue has been before the court and all steps should be taken in line with the guidance of the court.
