PM orders speeding up operation against criminals in Karachi
KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday ordered speeding up operation against criminal elements in Karachi and bringing back the absconding offenders from foreign countries, ARY News reported.
Presiding over a high-level meeting with top government officials in Karachi, the PM ordered that the operation in the provincial capital be transformed into a fast-track operation. Committees should be formed to eradicate flaws in investigation mechanism, he added.
Mr. Sharif also ordered the Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan to cooperate with the provincial government of Sindh in bringing back the absconding criminals from foreign countries.
He also announced to lift ban on recruitment in law enforcement agencies and ordered utilization of Army Selection Centers for employment in police department.
The prime minister also ordered shifting of Special Courts to Malir Cantonment. DG Rangers Sindh gave a briefing on targeted operations in Karachi during a meeting.
The PM said restoration of peace in Karachi was inevitable. The premier was also briefed on Tharparkar situation.
Earlier on his arrival to Karachi, the prime minister said he intended to streamline all institutions gradually.
