PM seeks early completion of energy projects

ISLAMABAD: Federal Cabinet’s energy committee on Thursday approved Pakistan’s gas pipeline agreement with Russia, Qatar and China, ARY News reported.

Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif directed concerned authorities for early completion of all projects in order to provide relief to the people

According to details, PM Sharif presided over a meeting of the cabinet’s energy committee here on Thursday. The meeting approved the gas pipeline agreement with Russia, Qatar and China.

On the occasion, the prime minister directed the authorities to speed up constructive works of the ongoing projects.

He also directed for presenting the details of short and long-term power projects to the committee.

The meeting also discussed affairs relating to Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (Tapi) gas pipeline and power purchasing from Iran.

Besides reviewing coal and LNG projects, the meeting also discussed ways to overcome persisting energy crisis and progress of the ongoing projects.
