Secretary Ashton Carter welcomed the Pakistan premier upon his arrival at the Pentagon – the Headquarters of US Department of Defense. On the occasion, the national anthems of both the countries were played.
In conversation with the defense secretary, PM Sharif expressed satisfaction over Pak-US ties during the last two years.
Secretary Carter praised Pakistan’s national resolve in the ongoing war against terrorism and said the US holds it in high esteem.
Both the leaders also held discussions pertaining to regional peace, security and furthering of Afghan peace process.
