PM urges people to help govt ensure peace on Yaum e Ashoor

In his special message on Ashoora Muharram, PM Nawaz Sharif urged the people to fulfill their national duty by aiding the government ensure law and order across country. He asked the people to take guidance from the couplets of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and to maintain unity and brotherhood among them.

The prime minister also directed the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of life and possession of the people at any cost.

Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan in his message on the day said that the martyrs of Karbala taught the Muslims to have patience, perseverance and to struggle for the right.

He added that Imam Hussain (RA) and other martyrs of Karbala taught a lesson not to bow before the tyrant and their sacrifice set an example for the entire Muslim Ummah.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain said that the Battle of Karbala was indeed a battle between the right and the wrong, and it can never be forgotten. He said that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions is a beacon of light for those who follow the path of righteousness.

The MQM chief also appealed ulema and scholars of all the schools of thought to maintain unity and fraternity among them on this day.
