HAFIZABAD: A member of Punjab Assembly Rana Jameel Hassan was kidnapped while on his way to Islamabad with his family, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Rana Jameel was elected from Punjab Assembly’s seat PP-174 Nankana Sahib.
Rana Jameel was on his way to Islamabad with his wife on Friday night when a car hit his vehicle near Sayyal More on the Motorway. Armed men opened aerial fire and forced the MPA to their car.
According to the wife of Rana Jameel, the armed men left her at Rawalpindi at 4:00 on Saturday morning and taken her husband with them.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the kidnapping and called report of the incident from the I.G. Police of Punjab.
The shops and other businesses were closed in Nankana Sahib as the report of kidnapping of Rana Jameel spread in the city.
A brother of the kidnapped MPA has said that the abductors have demanded Rs. 50 million ransom money for his safe release.
