LAHORE: In yet another domestic violence incident, a 16-year old domestic worker died and his sister suffered injuries when their employer subjected them to physical torture in Lahore, ARY News reported.

Police have booked the daughter of a member of Punjab Assembly associated with the ruling PML-N for beating teen-aged Akhtar to death and injuring his sister, Atiya, in a Lahore neighborhood.

Police recovered the body of the deceased and the girl with visible torture marks from the MPA’s residence on Wednesday morning.

The victim siblings have been working at the residence of the legislator Shah Jehan for quite some time, the local police said.

Subsequently, a case was registered against the lawmaker’s daughter, Fouzia, for murder under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

In a bid to tone down charges against influential accused Fouzia, the police have not incorporated the sections of the laws on child labour and abuse in the case.

Atiya, the victim of domestic violence, while narrating her ordeal said “the employer had subjected the two siblings to severe torture by beating them up with iron rods and wooden sticks.” “She was giving us meal only twice a day,” the child added.

The victims’ father said if the employer had any problem with his children, she should have consulted him. He said his children were employed there for three years. He made a passionate appeal to Punjab Chief Minister to take notice of the murder of his son and ensure the culprits are brought to justice.

Child Protection Bureau’s chairperson has said the bureau has taken notice of the incident and demanded of the government to provide best care to the injured and compensation to the family of the victims.
