ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Malik Ahmed Khan on Monday said that his party would perform the role of strong opposition in the Punjab Assembly.

“PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif will take decision about opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly,” he said while talking to media following a meeting of the PML-N chaired by Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.

Malik Ahmad Khan said that the PML-N would not indulge in politics of lock down and conspiracies as those activities harmed the country.

Opposition parties on Thursday decided not to boycott parliament and give tough time to Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which is about to form government in the center following victory in July 25 elections.

Senator Sherry Rehman said that the opposition had decided not to boycott the parliament for continuation of democracy despite reservations over transparency of elections.
