PML-N, PTI have held entire Punjab hostage: Bilawal

SARGODHA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said the party was still alive and present in Punjab, and he has set out to complete the incomplete mission of Benazir Bhutto and save the nation.

Addressing a campaign rally in Sargodha, the PPP chairman said that two political parties have held the entire province hostage, and those indulging in right-wing politics have done nothing for Punjab.

“Two political parties have held entire Punjab hostage. These right-wing parties have done nothing for Punjab. The vision and economic policy of PML-N and PTI are the same,” he said.

He said the the party, just like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, has always brought a revolutionary manifesto, as the country will prospers due to the welfare of the peasants and farmers.

He said the policies to bring an agricultural revolution are part of their manifesto and the party has always given a farmer-friendly manifesto.

This includes registering farmers and providing ‘Benazir Kissan’ cards which will provide subsidies also also insure crops so that compensations are provided in case of any damage by disasters.

He said the PPP has struggled against poverty alleviation and will provide interest-free loans to women so they can play their role in the economy. The party will also expand BISP to the entire country after the elections.

Furthermore, he said the party has a hunger eradication programme which will establish centres at union-council levels run by women to provide essential food items at reduced prices. He said the party believes in the provide of free education and healthcare, and the people should support them to help provide employment.

He said that no university or hospital was built in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last five years. The PPP, he said, will provide housing to homeless people. He said their main struggle is against injustice, hatred, unemployment and civic issues.

“We will fulfill the dream of Benazir Bhutto,” he said adding that people should vote for them in July 25 general elections.
