KARACHI: Police has arrested three members of a swindling gang involved in a racket of fake appointments and promotions in various departments of Sindh government, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Farooque Awan has said that the gang operating in the name of high government officials, was arrested when they sent a fake visiting card to the I.G. Police of Sindh to get some work done.
Police traced their footprints and arrested three accused including two police officials and a school teacher. The accused were ASI Aslam, head constable Wazir and a Grade-18 school teacher Nazir, the police official said.
The accused were arrested from Shershah area of Karachi with bogus visiting cards of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, fake letter pads and other documents.
Police official claimed that this gang of swindlers has deprived several people heavy amounts of money. Police said Qazi Mustafa Ismail has been mastermind of the gang and efforts are underway to arrest him.
