Policemen signaled a vehicle to stop but the driver accelerated the speed of the car. Police officials chased the Corolla car carrying registration number LEB-831 and forced to stop the vehicle, police said.
During checking of the car large quantity of weapons including 12 repeater guns, 28 pump action guns, 9000 rounds, 11000 bullets of 9mm pistol and other munitions recovered, officials said.
Police also arrested two men Akhtar Nawaz and Fazal Karim Pathan from the car who said to be residents of Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
They were transporting the weapons and munitions to Sargodha for a major terrorist attack in the district, District Police Officer Sargodha said.
