ISLAMABAD: Police resorted to baton charge against the participants of a rally of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in capital city of Islamabad, ARY News reported on Friday.

Imran Khan led PTI has launched a protest campaign against alleged irregularities in Pakistan's general election on May 11 last year.

Policemen started baton charge against the protesters after they entered in the high security red zone of Pakistan's federal capital city.

The area turned into a battlefield between the police and PTI workers.

The participants of the protest demonstration were trying to march towards the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan to register their protest against the alleged rigging in the general election last year.
