KARACHI: Police are still trying to solve the case on an infant who was mysteriously abducted from Napier Road area last week, ARY New reported.

The eight-month-old girl, named Faiza, was reportedly snatched from her mother who was standing outside their apartment building in the Old Town area within the remits of the Napier police station.

The minor’s mother initially told police that a veiled woman first greeted her then suddenly snatched her daughter from her arms and ran away. She added that she cried for help but the woman managed to escape with her daughter.

However, police said that there are glaring differences in her mother’s statements which has made the matter more suspicious. According to the police, the mother made the rather bizarre claims that her child was supposed abducted by jinns.

DIG South said that later the mother claimed that the child had mysteriously disappeared. He said that matter is being investigated from all possible angles and hoped that the infant would be recovered soon.
